Position: Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor
Location: Berrien Springs, MI

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor who enjoys working with a diverse population. I provide individual, group and family counseling to children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and geriatric population.

I believe God gives each person with different talents. God has given me a gift of helping people; helping them to work through their issues to reach their full potential in their journey of life. Life is meant to be sweet and meaningful but situations and circumstances divert people from having or reaching their dreams and goals or to live to their full potential. I want to help people to get back what they were meant to be: helping them to recognize they have a personal power to change their lives. Their circumstances don’t have to define who they are but to find who and what they truly are meant to be. Life is journey and there are many roads to take and sometimes we all need a helping hand to help us get back in the right path, especially when we fall or take detour. These are the reasons why I chose my profession as a counselor.

In my professional capacity, I have worked with a wide range of people from the age of 3 to 99 years old with various issues of ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Physical/sexual Abuse, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Substance Abuse/Dependence, Parenting Skills Training, Life Span Issues, and Marital/Couple Problems. I have provided services in the school settings, home based therapy, residential facilities, office, and nursing homes/assisted living facilities. I have worked with the emotionally, behaviorally, developmentally, and mentally challenging as well as at-risk children/ youth. Also, I have screened at-risk students and made appropriate referrals for services. I have worked with adolescents who were on probation. In addition, I provided an evidence based substance program to adolescents and young adults. I worked closely with the probation officers, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and case workers from Department of Human Services. Moreover, I have worked with the interdisciplinary team (school social workers, psychologists, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist) to work on student IEPs and worked very closely with special needs students who require special education services.

In my counseling the following treatment approaches I have used: CBT, stress management, stories, journaling, time management, effective communication skills training, art therapy, play therapy, behavioral modification, strength based therapy, solution focused therapy, decision making training.
